Training is only one part of performance and it will only get you so far on its own. The problem is - the other pieces don't make great social media posts, so you don't always hear about them.
And when you do, it's usually a watered-down version, or just a post about something that worked for one person. Or there's a sales tactic behind it.
But I live and breathe this stuff. I read the science, and apply it to each individial athlete. It's both far more simple, and way more complicated than meets the eye.
What I see is that these other, but less exciting, missing pieces for performance revolve around nutrition, recovery and mind-set. And they are far more important than we give them credit for.
